M&V awarded project at ION Orchard

Measurement & Verification Pte Ltd (M&V) is proud to announce that it was recently awarded an upgrading project by ION Orchard.

ION Orchard, an upscale shopping mall in the heart of Orchard Road, has turned to M&V to enhance their existing ageing Air Handling Unit (AHU) and Primary Air Handling Unit (PAHU) systems.

The company saw value in M&V’s truly open source and non-proprietary Airside Management System (AMS) platform and controllers.

ION Orchard had previously appointed M&V for optimisation and maintenance of the chiller Energy Management System plant at ION Orchard. As such, M&V is familiar with the operation of both the chiller plant and the Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) system.

With a proven track record in improving the overall efficiency of waterside and airside management, along with performance guarantee, M&V is confident of providing a performance guarantee for ION Orchard upon completion of the project.

For this project, M&V will be utilising a Class 0.5 power meter to measure the power kW values and energy valves to measure the cooling capacity RT, thereby providing an accurate picture of the kW/RT for each AHU/PAHU.

M&V will also ensure instrument accuracy via heat balance between waterside and airside for the AHU and PAHU systems. Finally, the project will leverage the Smart Predictive Solutions (SPS) developed by M&V, which can help to improve energy efficiency, comfort, and manpower productivity.
